RAD GUARD Radiator Protector installed onto Khaki V-Strom 1000 2014+

Actually received this Rad Guard radiator protector a few weeks ago, but could not install them. Due to no fault of Rad Guard’s, the standard guard they make will not work with the Givi TN3105 crashbars installed. Because the Givi bars use a support bracket that mounts to the top radiator bolts, and this interfered with the radiator protector, and made it unable to be installed.

We could see what the problem was, and knew what the solution would be. So after some consultation with Paul at Rad Guard Australia, we sent the guards back to him to be modified using email and a template that we made up.

These arrived back today, and with just enough daylight left got one installed onto the Khaki V-Strom 1000. Good news, they fit nice and neatly now, with enough room to go around the Givi brackets and still protect the radiator.

Have to give a big shout out to Paul at Rad Guard Australia. Not only do they make a top quality product, they were of great assistance and modified the guards quickly and neatly. Can highly recommend that any V-Strom 1000 owners who want a top of the range radiator protector for the V-Strom 650 or 1000 get the Rad Guard.

Just make sure if you have Givi TN3105 crash bars installed to let Paul know, as with the help of A Pair Of Stroms they now have a template to suit 🙂
