Group shot at the final destination – Mt Panorama Race Circuit, Bathurst NSW
Went along with the “Al’s Ride” group for a great ride on Saturday, that went from Bundanoon to Bathurst. Did over 600km’s and spent 12 hours on and off the bike. It was the perfect day for a ride, not too hot and after the morning fog burnt away was clear skies!
We met with some friends at McDonalds in Narellan at 7.00am, and then proceeded down the highway to Bundanoon, getting there at around 8.00am. After the riders briefing everyone set off towards Goulburn at 8.30am.
After stopping at Goulburn for a fuel stop, the group then set off for the next stop at Taralga, for another regroup. Once everyone was regrouped, the next stage was some great fast riding to Black Springs, for a stop and another chance for everyone to catch up.
Stopped at Black Springs for a regroup
After leaving Black Springs the group then headed to Bathurst, where this group plus two other groups that originated from different destinations all came together for a police escort to the world famous Mt Panorama Race track. The police closed the roads to get to the track, which was pretty cool, and once there everyone lined up on the main straight for a group shot.
Once this was done , we set off, still had a few hours ride to get home. All up it was a great day, for a good cause.
The 1000’s performed brilliantly, and even though we spent hours and hours on the bike, and did hundreds of kilometres, the bike was comfortable the whole way. This new 1000 really is a great set up bike out of the crate, and is definitely a superb do it all bike.
Can highly recommend that any fellow rider who wants a great day out, riding with a good bunch of people on some awesome roads, that they join the Al’s Ride next year.
