In the process of putting together an EDC (Everday Carry) Kit to keep under the seat of the bike, with some tools and emergency supplies. We often find ourselves away from civilization, and in the event of an emergency where one/or both of us got stuck somewhere, at least we will some essentials to get by.

Plus its lots of fun buying the cool gadgets, toys and putting the kit together! 🙂

  1. Thanks Shockstrom,

I think I’ll just carrier my largish shifter on long trips, as I have nothing else big enough to fit the nuts. My 2007 Vstrom 650 required a large allen key for the front axle removal. That was easy enough to purchase and slip into the existing tool pouch (never had to use it, but reassuring to know I had it with me). With your membership for the local road assistance club, is that specifically for motorcycles?

  2. Hi guys,
Just wondering what you carry to make up for the very limited standard tool kit? I’ve just realised there is no spanners to fit the front or rear axle nuts. So you can’t adjust the chain or remove a wheel if necessary.

    • Hi Craig

Haven’t really put a kit together yet. Have all the proper tools in the garage, but no real tool travel kit yet, besides the tyre repair kit, We have the luxury that because we ride together 90% of the time, there is essentially a back up bike! 🙂

If one of us were to break down or have an incident, the other can ride for assistance etc. Plus with the reliability that Suzuki has, the possibility of something going wrong is very slim. Plus we have membership in the local Road assistance club 🙂

Not to say that a proper travel tool kit isn’t being looked at, but right now we are putting together some medical EDC travel kits, as there is probably more chance of human repairs then there is bike repairs!
